Home Equity Issuers Rethink Securitizations
In a recent issue of Asset-Backed Alert, Pete Pannes spoke with Matt Birkbeck about the back and forth between rating agencies and issuers regarding the scope of TPR reviews for second-lien product securitizations. “Reduced scope reviews remove a significant underwriting expense for the issuer and remove a source of friction in the securitization process,” said Pannes. If this were to come to fruition, this change could unlock a massive increase in deal volume.
